Doing our part to be sustainable

At Antone, our recycling waste system is reviewed on a regular basis. Skips and bins have now been allocated to the offices and various areas throughout the shopfloor. We have also updated the office lighting to be on sensors to conserve electricity.

We are also proud to take another step towards being part of the renewable energy source cycle. Some time ago we did a detailed exercise to assess how much packaging material Antone uses in a year. The figures were startling! We used to use 13,000 metres (that’s 8 miles) of blue corner protector, 200 rolls of bubble wrap, 300 rolls of packing tape and 250 rolls of shrink wrap. These packing materials have now effectively been removed from our operations. Blankets and ties can be re-used time and time again. Whilst we sometimes need shrink wrap to hold things together and add an extra layer of protection, there are biodegradable products now available thereby reducing our environmental impact further.

With Sustainability at the forefront of our thinking, we support the life cycle of waste products to provide second life/recycling solutions. It certainly is a challenge for our industry, however, every step we take makes a difference to the future.

It was refreshing to be involved in an upcycle project for a client. A traditional double sided twin pedestal partner desk was transformed into a beautiful showcase for a luxury goods brand. With a glass top, suede lined showcases and polished brass detail, this beautiful piece of furniture was used for promotional sites/launches.
