It is such a cliché that a business is all about the people but in our case, it is so very true and perhaps the measure of our culture is the length of service for existing employees. People seem to stay!
Over the whole company the average length of service is 11.1 years. This takes into account we have employed 9 new members of staff in the last 18 months. Also, there are over 15 of us that are ‘lifers’, 20 years + and counting! Office staff have been with us on average 14.2 years and the shop floor is currently 8.1 years.
Whilst the majority of our employees have been here forever, we have had a few new additions recently. Our freshest recruit is Ollie who joined our drawing office in September 2023. Ollie has been working on the 3D element of CAD drawing and has settled into the Origination team seamlessly.
Summer 2023, we welcomed two new apprentices to the shopfloor team. A long-standing member of the shopfloor team, Eddie, has already taken the two newcomers under his wing and showing them the ropes.
Also earlier in 2023, Sal joined us as a Sales Administrator and has arrived with a bundle of experience in the shopfitting/retail fixture sector. It’s been a few months since Sal joined us now and she is getting us even more organised as we have been busier than ever. She has settled in a treat and we are confident that through the crazy times, she will bring super administrative support as well as plenty of laughter.
In 2023, we also celebrated some 1-year work anniversaries. Luke joined our accounts office as a Trainee Accountant fresh out of college after completing his A-levels last year. He’s become a very valued member of our Antone team.
Additionally, we can hardly believe it’s been a year since Justin joined us to run Stores/Goods In. As many will know, a top level Stores-person needs a great memory and fantastic organisational/teamwork skills. With most days being extremely busy with endless deliveries Justin is The Oracle and a shining example of these attributes. It has been a pleasure to have him on board and we have enjoyed his sense of humour and mischievous nature.
With Health and Safety being such an important factor in our industry, we also welcomed Alex to the team as Health and Safety Administrator. Her determination and organisational skills accompanied with her sense of humour has been a wonderful addition to the team.
