Here at Antone, we have to confess, we love to start a day with cake! Which was a perfect opportunity for the Charity Cake Sale being held to support the lovely Fay, who is part our extended Antone Family and will be running the London Marathon to support the charity Cardiac Risk in the Young in memory of her swimming training partner Sophie who died suddenly from an undiagnosed heart condition at 16 years of age. We are pleased to say that all of the lovely bakes were sold out by 11am!
We don’t just stop with cakes… we love spreading a little Christmas joy visiting the Glenfield Hospital to install the outside displays which we have been doing for the past few years. Our own joiners from the shopfloor team, Andy Smith and Illsley-Stein Varnham, bought the displays to life. Characters including a Santa and his reindeers, Mr Snowman, Angels and Penguins adorned the grassy area to the entrance to Ward 15. Very close to our hearts, the amazing Nursing Team were there with the team on the day.
We are always proud of the team here at Antone and even more so when you hear of the efforts of two employees designating their time to charity.
Rob Wheildon and Michelle Nelson are Independent Volunteers for Barnardo’s, which involves being a positive role model for young people. They both thoroughly enjoy their roles providing valuable support to those that need it most.
