Environmental Policy
Antone is a leader in the retail interior sector,
in terms of developing strong environmental practices.
We have always pioneered production processes, operational
approaches and recycling policies that have pushed
the boundaries of traditional thinking.
"We consider
environmental factors as essential both from a moral
and also a commercial stand-point."
Within the restrictions of customer requirements,
Antone operate a strict best practice approach in the
use of raw materials and methods of construction. We
communicate environmental impact to customers and advise
alternative sustainable resources when feasible. Whilst
we work in all materials, we understand that some have
less impact on the environment than others. Factors
such as chemical make up, distance transported and
sustainability of raw material affect our recommendations.
We have often been out-spoken with regards to the
recycling of fixtures and fittings that have been removed
from shops. Many retailers and brands pay lip service
to initial construction methodology, but are then happy
to skip old fixtures and fittings that could easily
be re-sold or donated elsewhere. We continue to encourage
our customers to dispose of items in a positive and
useful way rather than burying within land-fill sites.
"Antone recycles all metal-work and plastic
surplus waste and timber is used for the generation
of heating."
Where possible, waste material is re-used
for future production benefiting both the environment
and also our customers in terms of reduced costs. Machinery
is linked to optimizing software programs, which reduce
wastage to an absolute minimum during primary machining
processes.
We have recently become involved with a number of
local community projects using our own personnel and
surplus materials that would have otherwise been placed
in a skip. This includes a Park Café, which
has resulted in the rejuvenation of an area for local
families.
Forests Forever is a campaign by Britain’s timber
industry to help safeguard the forests of the world
by encouraging the responsible procurement and use
of wood products. Antone endorses this organization
in addition to the activity by the Timber Trade Federation.
"We believe that Environmental factors
will over-take all the other design parameters currently
considered during the design and development process."
Ignoring
this situation not only threatens the population but
potentially impacts on the viability of commercial
organizations such as Antone. We would like to assure
our existing and potential customers that we will remain
at the fore-front of the development of environmental
policies within our industry.
